Emachines desktop graphics card.?
Im trying to get new graphics card for my computer. (I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic 32) What The problem is that I have not much of an idea on how to go about this. I do not even know what my graphics card looks like, or if it even has a moment. I have no idea what size should I get either. Nor even know where it goes. I'm not exactly computer savvy when it comes to the guts of the computer. Any help and advice will be wonderful. Thanks in advance for supporting anyone:) well. It may be easier to ask, what graphics cards are compatible with W3609 Emachines
Check the front panel of the PC tower – there must be a big label with all specifications and model number, which is necessary to here as an addendum to his original question. Now the bad news – Emachines are made up at a cost – not quality – so the system board (motherboard) is usually a small board on request, were included in a small box with very few expansion slots (for video cards and the like) and a minimum supply of energy. It is likely that your computer is currently using the "board" graphics adapter (built into the motherboard) – you can confirm this, by removing the side panel (the left side, facing) and to verify that your monitor is connected to a plug that connects directly to the motherboard. PCI sockets are the targets shown in the image linked (below) – which is most likely what you see on your motherboard. Ergo, you have to find a PCI graphics card on ebay (NOT a PCI-E or PCI Express) – this only pushes directly to one of the PCI sockets, after removing one of the blanking plates covering the slot in the back of the case. You need a screw to hold it firmly in place. The PC must be turned off when it does, but leave the network cable connected, providing an Earth (Ground) which is good to prevent static damage while rummaging inside. Look for a PCI card with as much RAM as possible, I've seen some with only 8 MB of RAM is pretty useless. Go for at least 128MB Preferably 256MB or 512MB if you can find or buy one. At the same time check to see if you can upgrade the main RAM (memory) by going to CRUCIAL.COM and installation its correction system Good luck!
