computer question ???????????????

Hello. I have a question about a Gateway laptop. How I can keep my running laptop without it going to be or something similar for a while later. The reason I want to stay, it's because I'm going to the mall for some time and I have something in downloading Vuze System (torrent) I really want to finish downloading. And yes, I know that's not good to keep my computer running for long time, but rarely do so and now I'm in need. Thanks for your help!
