best PCMCIA FireWire card for a dell D630 and 410 m audio?

I have a Dell D630 Intel GM965 chipset and an M-Audio FireWire 410 Sound Card external. (6 pin to 6 pin) Anyone out there with the same set recording and if so what is used pcmcia because my dell is freezing on me when setting the hook together. thanks

As a matter of fact, I have an M-Audio FW410 device and use it frequently with my Acer TravelMate 4672WLMi by Using a simple and inexpensive PCMCIA card I got from ebay. In principle, all IEEE 1394 FireWire cards will do, but I prefer the 6-pin for my particular notebook. My laptop has a built-in 4-pin, however, but is not compatible with hot-plugging/swapping well. That's why I have a PCMCIA card with 2 x 6 pin also supports hot-plugging. I strongly advise you to seek this type of card. Otherwise, if the FW410 is accidentally unplugged or loses connection for any reason, you should reboot your laptop to reconnect the FW410. Since you probably do not want to restart the computer every time such a thing happens, is probably a good idea for a card that supports hot-plugging/swapping. If you are interested, my card is a double Kouwell CardBus 1394: – Standard IEEE 1394-1995 – PCMCIA Type II – Supports Plug-and-Play and hot-swap – Model # KW-1002 I do not know how old the card, but seeing the state of the box in what could be more than 5 years. So if this card does it for me, a newer card will do just as well if not better.
