How I can reinstall an audio driver?

I reformatted – Windows XP Home – now "no audio device displayed in the system. "I tried to download the driver – download – reset -" This system is not compatible with the driver you are trying to install. " Windows XP was already installed when I bought the equipment I have no driver disk.
