Will the prices of apple laptops go up when Leopard is released?

I am a student working with a very limited budget. I currently have a two year old windows xp laptop that is fading fast. I have saved up enough for the lowest model apple laptop. I heard that apple’s new operating system is coming out around jun, so I want to wait to get that. But will the prices of macs go up when they have the new systems? The price of the imac i want is currently $1099. That is pretty much all i can afford. Using the ipods as an example, I know that the nano’s cost less than the mini’s did, and they are more advanced. Does anyone know if the pricing will fall or raise of apple laptops?

Ok, well the new operating system is not coming out until at least October, as Apple delayed its release yesterday.

The prices of macs will not go up, but they probably will not go down either. Your best bet is on waiting to get it sometime before the next school year starts, when Apple releases new computers. The computers that they currently sell, should be discounted either directly on their site or possilby on their refurbished/clearance site. Also, have you checked out the educational discouts you can get on Apples? Also, other retailers, such as Amazon, sell Apple computers with rebates and do not generally charge shipping or tax on the computers…hope this helps…
